Annie's Gluten Free Product Review & Giveaway!

Recently, I received an awesome gift pack from Annie's in the mail. They were kind enough to send me samples of their gluten free deluxe macaroni and cheese, gluten free cocoa & vanilla bunny cookies, organic orchard cherry fruit bites, organic bunny fruit snacks in grapes galore & pink lemonade flavors as well as a bunch of fun Annie's paraphernalia that I get to share with one lucky reader.

Read ahead for my reviews of the products and your chance to win some great Annie's swag!

Creamy Deluxe Gluten Free Macaroni Dinner:

Annie's Gluten Free Mac and Cheese

The mac and cheese was super easy to make and very tasty. Mac and cheese is one of my favorite kid foods. I eat it now as an adult with chopped up tomatoes and a little bit of black pepper for a quick and savory dinner. The Annie's Mac and Cheese was thick, creamy and full of flavor. I'm a fan of their regular mac and cheese, so it wasn't a surprise to find out I liked this version as well.

Cocoa & Vanilla Bunny Cookies:

Annie's Gluten Free Cocoa & Vanilla Bunny Cookies

These little cookies are very delectable. I brought them with me on our trip to Florida and munched on them on the plane while everyone else was eating snacks I couldn't have. They are horribly addictive so I'd suggest portioning out the 27 pieces you get in a serving and putting the box away before eating any of them. Surprisingly, for a gluten free cookie, they're not too horrible for you. At 120 calories for a serving and 3.5 grams of fat, they give you the feel of eating a treat without blowing your healthy diet completely out of the water.

Bunny Fruit Snacks:

Annie's Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks

Ok, so another favorite kid treat of mine is fruit snacks. Annie's makes great little purse or lunch box friendly packs of fruit snacks in the shape of... you guessed it... bunnies. The fruit snack samples I received were super fresh and moist, (no stale tooth breakers here). Both flavors were sweet, but not too sweet. I think my favorite was the pink lemonade. The little packs have only 70 calories and give you a quick low calorie sweet treat when you're hankering for something sugary.

Cherry Fruit Bites:

These were pretty great. They fall somewhere between fruit snack and fruit leather and come in fun shapes. Great for the kids or for that adult who can appreciate snacks shaped like bunnies, (I am that adult).

Overall, I think Annie's makes really great products. You can get fun and delicious snacks for kids or adults that don't have artificial ingredients in them, which has become increasingly more important to me over the past few years. Who wants to eat food that contains chemicals with names they can't pronounce?! Not me. Also, a lot of their products are organic and certified by Oregon Tilth, which is a big deal.

  2. I haven't seen any of this product for sale in any of my health food stores. I really wish they would make a gf cheese bunny cracker. I live in Vermont. I will have to try and find these in Boston when I'm there in a couple of weeks. All in all I like Annie's gluten free products. Thanks for the tips on Gluten Free eating in and around the Boston Area.

  4. I'd love to try the deluxe mac n' cheese! I've had the regular but I'm always a bit sad that there isn't much sauce. Those cookies look rather nice as well...

  7. My favorite Annie's product is the Gluten Free Mac & Cheese. It's so good. It makes my bones tingle. If I were slightly crazier than I am now I would crush it up with the broadside of my chef's knife and do a big line of Annie's Gluten Free Mac & Cheese on my kitchen counter. I've never had their "Deluxe" GF MAc & Cheese. I have a feeling it might make my heart explode but I'm willing to take that risk.

My niece loves Annie's Gluten Free Bunny Cookies. She calls them BunEEEEEEeszzzz before biting off each of their heads.

  8. Before I was GF I loved their ranch bunny crackers. So I am waiting for their GF version of those! Now, though, I enjoy their rice pasta GF mac and cheese and my kids like the fruit bunnies which we give out at Halloween - they think they are getting the equivalent of candy but I feel much better about what they're eating.

  11. My daughter's fav is Annie's GF Mac and Cheese. I swear she can eat a whole box herself! It is the best we have found that tastes like "regular" mac and cheese. Even I think it is yummy and I don't have a gluten allergy!
